Since 2008 we have aspired to recreate the once existing Tuckerton Railroad (1870-1938) in 1/8" scale and reproductions of buildings of that time period.
We feel it is important to educate the general public as to how important the Tuckerton Railroad was in the development of this area as a whole before the advent of the automobile, truck and airplane.
Members are able to ride and operate the equipment for the enjoyment of the general public. The public are able to visit our locomotive shop to see equipment being built and serviced for daily operations.
The public are invited to join to participate in all aspects and programs.
We work with Bass River Township to help provide funds and promote donations and grants for the development of the surrounding park. The 65 acre has open trails including a bird walk to explore 7 days a week during daylight hours.
The park and train rides are FREE for all to enjoy!
Riding our trains is FREE, but because we are a non-profit organization, run only by volunteers, donations are welcome and greatly appreciated for the maintenance and upkeep of the trains and track.
The park will be open to school outings for educational and seasonal events which are free but open to donations. Scouting and special needs programs will be developed allowing participants to experience the inner workings of a railroad as part of a merit program.
